Andrés Duque

Andrés Duque was born on 18 June 1972 in Carcas, Venezuela. A graduate of journalism, he joined the Latin American Division of HBO in 1994 as a writer and director of reports on film. As such, he covered multiple international film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Sundance and Toronto, among others. In 2002, he moved to Spain where he obtained an MA degree in Theory and Practice of Creative Documentary. To this day, he has shot four feature documentary films, the latest one being Oleg And The Rare Arts (2016), which won the director the Punto de Vista Grand Prize at the International Documentary Film Festival of Navarro Punto de Vista in 2016, and has been been nominated at other festivals, such as the Buenos Aires International Film Festival of Independent Cinema 2016, as well as Fenix Film Awards in the same year.
